Eligibility Criteria for the Community Solutions Program 2025:
- Must be between the ages of 26 and 39 as of November 13, 2024
- Citizen of an eligible country
- Living and working in your home country
- Individuals with refugee status working for their home community may receive special consideration.
- Must have at least two years of experience in community development (full-time, part-time, or volunteer)
- Not currently participating in an academic, training, or research program in the U.S.
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
- Semifinalists must submit or pass TOEFL/IELTS test scores
- Available to travel to the U.S. for four months (August to December 2025)
- Not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and haven’t applied for U.S. permanent residency in the last three years
- Must be eligible to receive a U.S. J-1 visa
- Must have fulfilled the two-year home residency requirement if previously participated in a U.S. Government exchange program
- Committed to returning to your home country for at least two years after the program
- Not an IREX employee, consultant, or immediate family member
