The ASEF Young Leaders Summit 2026 (ASEFYLS) is a prestigious youth leadership platform that brings together young leaders from Asia and Europe to build a strong, collaborative community. Organized by the Asia-Europe Foundation, this program is designed to develop leadership skills at three levels: self-leadership (you), team leadership (we), and societal leadership (all).
ASEFYLS 2026 focuses on the theme “Anticipatory Leadership for a Human-Centred Future”, empowering participants to use future thinking to guide present actions. Through this program, participants will explore trends, analyze future scenarios, and develop adaptive leadership strategies to create sustainable and inclusive societies.
This fully funded youth summit provides a unique learning journey combining training, networking, and community action. It is an excellent opportunity for students and young professionals who want to enhance their leadership potential and make a meaningful impact in their communities. Program Structure of ASEFYLS 2026:
1. Training Phase (Online)
- Dates: 9 June – 30 July 2026
- Interactive sessions with experts
- Topics include:
- Strategic foresight

- Commitment: ~4 hours/week (2 sessions weekly)
2. Action Phase (Local Communities)
- Dates: August – November 2026
- Participants organize multiplier events
- Apply learned knowledge in real-world settings
- Create impact in local communities
3. Arctic Leadership Training (Optional – Selected Participants)
- Dates: 23 – 29 August 2026
- Location: Tromsø
- Organized with UiT The Arctic University of Norway
- Only 40 participants were selected
- Focus on the Arctic as a case study for leadership

Eligibility Criteria for ASEFYLS 2026:
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a citizen of an eligible Asian or European country
- Age between 18 and 30 years
- Students or young professionals
- Actively involved in youth organizations or student groups
- Demonstrated interest in leadership and community impact
- Strong English communication skills (written and spoken)
Commitment Required:
Participants must:
- Attend 16 online training sessions (June–July 2026)
- Complete individual assignments
- Organize community multiplier events during the Action Phase
- (For selected participants) Attend in-person training in Norway
